First, there are the tech articles. I started working in high-tech when we programmed the computers by moving wires around--no kidding. Punch cards were a great innovation. I've worked in more languages and on more machine types than I can remember to count--no kidding. But unlike a lot of people, I've grown and maintained my "tool set." I've just finished a couple of classes on stuff that Microsoft still has in Beta, so you'll find some interesting tech stuff here from time to time as I see that an article fits. These will break down into a couple of types, too. Some articles are written just to help novices with their computer questions. Others are really technical articles I'll do from time to time--you know, articles for real geeks.

But there's a second kind of article here. These are the stories and articles about the times of my life. I feel that I've lived in a unique time. During the years of my life, our nation has gone from being the victorious all-defeating power of World War II, through the cold war, the experience of losing in Vietnam, to a war against terror. I've seen vacuum tubes, slide rules, and typewriters disappear. I've experienced the call of God on my life and I've learned what really matters in our lives. Where the journey will take me next is always a question, but one thing's certain: I'll be learning as I go and I'll try to share some of it with my readers, whoever they may be.

I've also trained and worked as a professional photographer. Digital photography and the web make it so easy to share some of my favorite photos with the rest of the world, that I'm going to include that on this site just as quickly as I can.

So I hope you enjoy these articles and photos. You can reprint them for a nominal charge, which helps me keep my bills paid and keep going.
