Fixed Rate Amortization Schedule

In the ITSBITS^® Catapult Garage you can use the "Fixed Rate Amortization Schedule" tool to analyze a loan, see what it will cost you, and see how to pay it off to your best advantage.

Enter the amount you'll borrow (principle), the month/year when you'll make your first payment, the interest rate, and the number of months. Click the "gears icon" to churn up a quick summary of the loan. Now click the box to "do full amortization chart" and click the "gears icon" to generate a full schedule for the loan.

Now you can click on the "clipboard" icon to write your schedule to the system clipboard. You can then paste that into one of many editors or other programs. (Notice that some, such as NotePad won't work properly because of the carriage-return and line-feed characters they need, but many others, like Note-Tab will work perfectly.

Finally, you can re-create the schedule with extra monthly payments and/or an annual payment thrown in to help shorten the actual payback term. Noticing how much money you'll save on interest if you do this. One good thought here is that your annual tax refund can make a really big dent in what you'll pay to service the interest on the loan.
